This month, I entered the Editfest 30-Day Editing Competition, hosted by Filmsupply. The challenge was to create a short film trailer using their footage and music from Soundbed, following strict rules. At least 51 percent of the footage had to come from Filmsupply, and at least 10 percent of the music had to be from Soundbed. There were no actors, no dialogue — just editing, creativity, and sound design to tell a story.
I created Minus One, a short trailer set in a world where every person is suddenly triggered into uncontrollable rage — except for one awkward teenager who somehow remains completely calm.
I came up with the back story, created the voiceover, edited the footage, designed the text, and pulled it all together into one trailer. The result is hopefully a darkly funny, strangely hopeful piece that I am really proud to share.
Finalists have not been announced yet, but I really enjoyed putting it together.
